Chuggington depot is at the center of the city and colorful tunnels at the edges of town lead outside of the city to exciting locations. Dunbar, a coach and teacher to the young trainees, encourages young Chuggers as they attempt their lessons from the Chuggington depot training yard. During each episode, Chuggington’s announcer, Vee, shows each Chugger their task on her dispatch board.
As the trainees complete their assignments, they learn important lessons. The trainees also come across normal childhood experiences like finishing tasks, making friends, and handling bullies. As your child watches trainees encounter challenges, they have an opportunity to learn as well. Viewers can learn the importance of being thoughtful. They see in the show that everyone is unique and different. Children may learn the importance of telling the truth, perseverance, or even to help friends in need. Each episode has a different takeaway for the kids that are watching.
Chuggington Wilson
Wilson is one of the stars of Chuggington and is featured in episodes and merchandise for the show. The red engine is a young Chugger and one of the trainees in Chuggington. He is based on the EMD F-unit, a diesel powered locomotive. Wilson is full of energy and enthusiasm. He has a hard time paying attention, though, which can get him into trouble. He also easily loses focus and has trouble concentrating. Sometimes when the dispatch board gives him his assignment he takes off then forgets where he is supposed to go. Wilson can feel unsure when he finds himself in a new situation or unfamiliar surroundings but he is generally confident in his day to day surroundings and is starting to discover his own strengths.
There is also a line of toys with characters from the show Chuggington. Fans can buy wooden trains in the likeness of their favorite trainees or Chuggers like Wilson from the Chuggington Wooden Railway.
